1.Choose a Pallet
Whether you choose to use neutrals, monochrome, or a color pop you want to use colors and shades that complement each other. At Sublime Design we are licensed to and trained to help you find a solution to your pallet troubles. Go ahead and book a color consultation, give us a call.
2. Display Your Likes & Hobbies
If you have a neat collection of hats, OR antiques be sure to put those on display. Unique decor makes the space feel more personal and stands out that much more. In my home I have an Antique Camera from the 1940's I've inherited on display and it is such a conversation piece.
3.Less Is More
The minimalist approach is extremely popular, not sure if that's because of the aesthetic or because people aren't sure what to put on their shelves either but we're loving it! lol. Minimalism doesn't have to be as "planned" as you think as long as there's some coordination it looks purposeful and perfect.

4. Choose Complementary sizes
Too much of one uniform size on your shelves can look way too junky and won't draw the eye. In the above example the books are compiled in similar sizes on each shelf and varies by each shelf. The baskets on the lower shelf above are complementary as well, by not using two of the same size or just stacking them you create a rhythm in the design.
5.Add Plants and Flowers
Sublime Design is all about the plant life! Adding plants and greenery brings a richness in the design, you also add texture and variety in the decor. Another bonus of adding plants is that you use the vases to make a statement and coordinate through your decor. Make sure if you use more than one plant to use different plant types and color to complement each other.
6. Add Candles
Candles are an easy place filler and personally one of my favorites. When lit it'll add to the ambiance to make the space more moody. You can stack the candles on some books our pair candle sticks on the shelf either way you can't really go wrong with adding candles, and make sure to get soy wax or coconut wax candles, they are much better for the air so you can burn them GUILT FREE.
7. Color Coding
Color coding books are on then and personally I don't see them ever going out, whether its a lot of books organized by similar shades or a monochromatic theme this is an easy way to add to your shelfs. Your local thrift store has a ton of books you can buy for this look without breaking the bank.
That's all there is to it. Remember layer, complement, and coordinate. Thanks for reading!
